Let’s talk about good people because I think we don’t talk enough about how much we experience good people.
In giving thanks, I specifically thank God for the gift of good people. It is indeed a rare gift.
My little life, I’ve been fortunate enough to experience really good people. I didn’t have to become their friend, it’s just their nature. They are kind, thoughtful and caring.
The world today has made us believe that “people are wicked”. Well…while that isn’t entirely false, there are still many good and genuine people.
People that will show up for you, people that will listen to you, people that are empathetic enough to share your problems with you, people that don’t pretend, people that won’t be mean/harsh because they’re being “real”.
People that genuinely love, people that really want the best for you, people that can’t stand your walls shattering and would go to any extent to help you stand. Yes! These people exist.
These people, they remind us of what it means to be human, they show us how the world is supposed to be, they make us believe that the world can really be a better place.
If you know anyone like this, or you have them in your corner, pray for them, hold them closely, protect them, cherish them, also show up for them and in all, be kinder to them. Let them also experience what they show to others in the softest way.
Being a good person doesn’t make you less of yourself, it doesn’t mean you’re weak and it won’t take away what is rightfully yours. For years now, I’ve been living by this quote, “in a world where you can be anything, be kind”.
Being good/kind doesn’t mean you’ll overlook what is meant to bring you down or harm you in anyway. Just do what you have to, ensure to always speak up for yourself as much as you do for others, understand that being kind isn’t same as being nice. Then, the world will really be a better place for us all.
Gift of good people can’t be overemphasized
